Fine art commissions
This applies to most personal use cases, where you basically want me to make a certain image so you can own a copy of it (possibly an original physical ink drawing). I typically expect to be credited as the creator of the work and to retain at least some rights to using a digital image of it.
If this sounds like you, contact me below about what you’d like, including any deadlines and the price you’re willing to pay. I will let you know if I can do the work for that fee and timeframe; if not, I’ll let you know of any adjustments that would make it workable for me.
This category applies if the work is intended to represent or sell something (e.g., book illustrations, web graphics, or brand collateral such as logos). Such work is often more involved because it tends to require research or producing multiple concepts from which one would be chosen and finalized. Depending on the situation, I may or may not be credited and/or may sign away rights to ever use the image myself.
To proceed, contact me below with details about your project, and I will respond with whether I can do the work and at what rates. The calculation of my rates depends on multiple factors, including:
- how complicated the task is
- whether it’s for commercial use
- how much time I have to complete the task
- what rights I retain to the work
- postage, printing, or any other costs
For all commissions, good communication is critical. To avoid misunderstandings and protect everyone’s interests, we would develop an agreement in writing before any work is done or any money exchanges hands.
