Marginalia

Page of Boxes

Page split into "block" sections; some containing handwriting, others ink drawings.
For a few weeks I tried splitting pages into rectangular sections first, then writing in some and drawing in others. It makes for a more readable page, visually pleasing even if there’s mostly text – and the more I think about it, it confers all kinds of advantages that I wonder why I ever stopped doing it.

But that comes from going back to read these notebooks; in the process of writing/drawing, I tend to rebel against structure. Or rather, I want to create the structure in the same breath as the content, letting them grow together.

This is part of my weekly Marginalia series, explained here.
