Tiresias and Athena

For this little sketch I had to adapt my style to work with a thicker pen than usual on a spongy recycled paper where the ink bleeds considerably. It comes from the journal I brought with me to Greece in 2009, where for whatever reason I had the myth of Tiresias on my mind. This is where he encounters bathing Athena or a pair of snakes (I drew both, but it’s really one or the other depending on the version of the story).

Part of my weekly Marginalia series.
